What is the student-teacher ratio?
Generally 12 to 1. We believe smaller classes foster better learning.
What kind of lunch is provided?
Lunches are catered or prepared by volunteers on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Cost is $3.00 per meal.
Can I participate as a volunteer or member of the PTO?
Teachers and staff at the Christian Academy welcome parent involvement and volunteer work. When children know that parents and teachers are both involved in their school work, it provides them with a security and continuity that may not be possible in other school settings. We strive very hard to have a family atmosphere, and this is best accomplished when parents and staff are well acquainted and have open communication.
How long have you been established?
San Angelo Christian Academy began classes in August, 2004, with Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade. There were 12 students. Our current enrollment is 115 students.
Do you receive funding from the government?
No, we prefer to remain independent. Therefore, we accept no additional funds from government entities in order to avoid any state or federal mandates.
Do you administer the STAAR test to students?
No, we do not use the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness. We use the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) growth test.
Accreditation is a process that takes some time and must meet certain criteria. We are pleased to say that we accomplished this milestone with high marks in April, 2010. The Academy meets all requirements and is accredited by the National Christian School Association.
